Our customers' production depends on the dimensions we hold and the tests we run. That is why we carry out our in-house tests on every production lot, consistently and without exception.
To catch surface and sub-surface cracks that may form during cold drawing, every tube passes through the eddy current unit. Tubes that trigger a defect signal in the electromagnetic coil scan are automatically sorted out, and test records are kept for every lot.
Defects detected: surface cracks, sub-surface cracks
Samples from every lot are pulled to fracture on the tensile testing machine to measure the material's mechanical properties. Results are compared with the limits specified in EN 10305-1 and EN 10305-2.
Measured values: tensile strength (Rm, MPa), yield strength (Re, MPa), elongation at break (A, %)
A calibrated hardness tester takes measurements at several points on the tube. The values are recorded and checked against the customer specification.
Measurements are taken with digital calipers, micrometers and tolerance gauges.
We manufacture to EN 10305-1 and EN 10305-2. On request, the following documents are supplied with the order.
